Happy new year! I’m excited to share the year-end results! In addition to the usual detailed breakdown, I have included an annual summary by category. I’m paying my 2021 property taxes in January 2022 instead of my original plan of paying for two years this year. Since I only have five years left on my mortgage, the interest plus two years of property taxes would be too low to itemize on my 2021 tax return. I’m getting really excited about being so close to paying off my mortgage and saving $8,950 per year!
I had my vehicle’s annual oil change, and I had a vehicle repair that I delayed for two years. The repair wasn’t necessary at that time, and I wasn’t informed that the broken parts would cause other parts to break. Fortunately, the chain reaction of broken parts didn’t progress too much. Hopefully, I won’t have any major vehicle or house repairs in 2022. My bulk spending included twelve bottles of wine. I had already decided to drink less in 2022 compared to 2021. After seeing this chart and comparing it to 2020, I definitely need to reduce my alcohol spending. If you tracked your expenses, how do yours compare to mine?
