Holiday Deals

You can get free or discounted food on many days during the year.  Some deals require an app, and I don’t recommend those.  Many states waive sales tax for various reasons throughout the year.  There are also a few free activity days.  Here are the days that consistently have deals.

  • January 9: National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
  • January 15: National Bagel Day
  • January 19: National Popcorn Day
  • January 23: National Pie Day
  • Early January: Florida sales tax holiday (back to school)

  • February 6: National Frozen Yogurt Day
  • February 9: National Pizza Day
  • February 29: Leap Day
  • Fat Tuesday (usually late February to Mid-March): National Pancake Day
  • Mid-Late February: Alabama sales tax holiday (severe weather preparedness)

  • March 14: International Pi Day
  • Mid-March: First Day of Spring
  • Mid-March: Free Cone Day at Dairy Queen (usually first day of spring)

  • May 5: National Hoagie Day
  • May 28: National Hamburger Day
  • First full week in May: Teacher Appreciation Week
  • First Saturday in May: Free Comic Book Day
  • Second Sunday in May: Mother’s Day
  • Third Saturday in May: Armed Forces Day
  • Last Monday in May: Memorial Day
  • Week of May 15: National Police Week
  • Early May: National Nurses Week
  • Early May: Scoops of Thanks Day at Culver’s
  • Early-Mid May: Free Cone Day at Haagen-Dazs
  • Mid-Late May: free donuts for graduates at Krispy Kreme (also free donuts for good grades throughout year)
  • Late May-Early June: Florida sales tax holiday (disaster preparedness)

  • June 21: National Smoothie Day
  • First Friday in June: National Donut Day
  • First Saturday in June: National Trails Day
  • First weekend in June: Free Fishing Days (varies by state)
  • Third Sunday in June: Father’s Day

  • September 5: Cheese Pizza Day
  • September 12: National Chocolate Milkshake Day
  • September 18: National Cheeseburger Day
  • September 20: National Pepperoni Pizza Day
  • September 26: National Pancake Day
  • September 29: National Coffee Day
  • Fourth Saturday in September: National Public Lands Day (plus other free days)
  • Early September: Florida sales tax holiday (skilled worker tools)
  • Mid-Late September: Museum Day

  • October 4: National Taco Day
  • October 4: National Cinnamon Roll Day
  • October 12: National Gumbo Day
  • October 12: National Pulled Pork Day
  • October 14: National Dessert Day
  • October 17: National Pasta Day
  • October 28: National Chocolate Day
  • October 28: National First Responders Day

  • November 3: National Sandwich Day
